1592 posts · Joined 2010. #2 · Nov 9, 2012. Active Regen is anytime the truck is dumping extra fuel to raise EGTs to clean the filter. Passive Regen is anytime the truck is under enough load for the EGTs to be high enough under normal operation to clean the filter. That's all I got.
