We have had many requests to make Plasma 5.27.2 available in our backports PPA for Kubuntu 22.10 (Kinetic Kudu). As usual with our PPAs, there is the caveat that the PPA may receive additional updates and new releases of KDE Plasma, Gear (Apps), and Frameworks, plus other apps and required libraries. Users should always review proposed updates
0. Install the Theme/Style by either extracting and compiling it, or installing an RPM. Open the KDE-Menu and start the Control Center. Select "Look and Feel". Select "Style" if the package you installed was a style, or select "Theme Manager" if the package you installed was a theme. Select your theme or style.
KDE Plasma 5.27 is now available for users of Kubuntu 22.04 LTS to upgrade to — if they want to. Kubuntu 22.04 LTS ships with KDE Plasma 5.24.That is a solid release that works well for most folks, but it does lack a few of the fancier flourishes and refinements found in more recent versions of the desktop.
This bug happened for the first time after 3 weeks of installing Kubuntu 22.04 in January 22.04. Hardware is a Lenovo P1 Gen 2, 32Gb ram, 1TB SSD, i7-9850H. Afterwards, it happened more frequently to the point it happens daily. It makes working impossible and frustrating. I did a fresh clean install on plain Ubuntu with GNOME and added the KDE The latest KDE Plasma Desktop 5.27 was released 2 weeks ago. (K)Ubuntu 22.10 based systems can now get it via KUbuntu Backport PPA. And, KUbuntu 23.04 will ship with Plasma 5.27 by default. For (K)Ubuntu 22.04 LTS the package is still in experimental PPA for testing, it should be made into the backport extra PPA later. UPDATE: This tutorial is Install KTorrent. sudo apt install ktorrent. Following these enhanced instructions, using the default repository, you can easily install KTorrent on your Ubuntu system. Use KDE neon development or add Kubuntu PPA. Ya I added kubuntu beta ppa, I wasn't able to wait till 8th Feb of KDE plasma 5.24 release :) You could add the kde neon testing repos and you will get even more kde updates! I think KDE neon is based on Ubuntu 20.04 lts so I think using KDE neon repos on Ubuntu 21.10 may be risky I suppose.
