One of the problems with Kia and the Cee'd is that they do have many minor variations from one country to another, presumably to meet country specific requirements and preferences. I'm now on my second Kia Ceed diesel and find the road noise on the newer Ceed 2 is a problem which was never an issue on on the earlier model. Regardless of road condition, there is a constant 'rumble'/'drone' from the front end, combined with what sounds like the noise of front wheel rotation. Cheap oils will clog the rings and cause exsessive oil burning. we took the gamble with one of our cars and ran it with oil additive, this can cause problems as it can block a oil way if engine is very carboned up. but did work after a few oil changes and no longer uses loads of oil, and engine breathes as it should. The engine light came on on Sunday so took it to garage Monday but it initially struggled to start then kept cutting out at low revs. It started up ok each time but then stopped and wouldn't start.
